Writings about films, filmmaking and other obsessions by Mark Achtenberg
Wells Root's book was the first book on screenwriting I ever got my hands on. It was jammed in the back corner of our local public library and I was the only person to ever take it out. I studied and studied and studied every word of it. I've devoured countless other books on the subject and even subjected myself to McKee's overly structured blather. Nothing matches the approach laid out by Root. Put that next to your Strunk & White and put pen to paper.
