A good post from Millsworks

If you haven't visited Rob Mills Millsworks.net then you should head on over. Rob and I share an insatiable appetite for movies and his political views are just as passionate (some might say ravingly so).

Poke around for a while.

Thanks for the reccomend, Mark. And I see you've put me on your BlogRoll - I'm going to do the same for you on my site as soon as I hit "send".

Am I really a raving lunatic? I guess so. Albeit a passionate one.

I must admit that my love of cinema has taken quite a beating over the past few years. The industry itself has cheapened their own product to such an extent that I find it difficult to care anymore - at least to the degree I once did. Either that or the cinema trivia portion of my brain has finally collapsed under its own weight.

Cheers.

There is a fine line between lunacy and brilliance Rob...

I just liked the term 'ravingly'.

I still love the movies probably because I spend my time watching older films. It is depressing seeing the endless sequels and movies based on video games, and recycled ideas. I wonder when they'll do a film based on a popular breakfast cereal.

Still, movies like 'Little Miss Sunshine' and 'Sideways' slip through the cracks. A little bit of humanity squeezes through the car chases and explosions.

I rented 'Breaking and Entering' a few weeks ago and was happy to see Anthony Minghella flexing his metaphors. There is still hope.
